What's E-Mail Marketing? How does it work?

Can somebody explain the difference between "e-mail marketing" and spamming? (Answers: 4) (Comments: 0)

Throughout this week I have been seeing a flashing ad here on Y/A promoting "e-mail marketing". I don't see any difference between e-mail marketing and spamming as both involve mass unsolicited e-mails sent to strangers. If there is indeed no difference, then surely the ad is illegal

What company creates custom e-mail marketing for small businesses? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)

I do NOT want to use Constant Contact. I would like a company that will create a custom e-mail newsletter to send to clients and prospective clients. I also do NOT want a Do-It-Yourself company. Thank you in advance for your answers!
